New Instagram changes are coming and it’s going to be huge for product based businesses. Instagram recently announced that they are testing new mobile shopping experiences allowing companies to tag their products featured in images. Once tagged, a small "tap to view" icon will appear in the lower left of the image taking potential customers to a detailed view of the product all within the Instagram app. (That's huge!) In this product preview a "shop now" link will be displayed, driving customers directly to the company's website for purchase.
We don't know about you, but how many times have you been scrolling through Instagram and wanted to know where that cute outfit or purse was for sale? Previously, brands and companies have used tools like LikeToKnowIt or Like2Buy which are shoppable pages linked within the profile. We love the product preview window of this new design update, now enabling additional product information without searching three web pages deep for product details... only to have a splash pages load over the information you are reading. Info overload!
With this new feature coming soon, social media marketers will no longer need to state "link in bio". Customers will have a way to discover products and enjoy a clean shopping experience - all within the app!
